The Daily Record has claimed that Cameron Carter-Vickers has resumed full training this weekend.

There is no great detail on the claim or timeline laid out for when the defender will be back playing but his return and the signing of Maik Nawrocki will have a significant influence on the Celtic defence.

After a typically commanding performance in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at the end of April Ange Postecoglou instantly announced that Carter-Vickers’ season was over as he required knee surgery.

Eleven weeks later it seems that the influential defender is on the final stages of his rehab as the Daily Record reports:

Celts will also be further boosted by the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who this weekend resumed full training back at Lennoxtown, along with Anthony Ralston, with the pair set to step up their fitness fights next week.

With two weeks to go until the SPFL opener against Ross County it would seem over ambitious to pencil Carter-Vickers in to be involved in that match.

The following Sunday Celtic are away to Aberdeen but on the weekend of August 19/20 the hoops will be seeded to play one of the qualifiers from the League Cup groups which could be the sort of fixture to get the former Spurs man back involved.
