Rodgers reacts to double signing rumour

Transfer

Brendan Rodgers has dismissed speculation linking Celtic with Ferreira and Mohamed Reda.

On Tuesday night Football Scotland claimed that contact had been made with Gremio over their £6m rated striker Ferreira while Future FC of Egypt had been sounded out about midfielder Reda.

So far Celtic have been quiet on the transfer front with less than £4m spent on Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio- neither of whom are considered to be first team starters.

Last summer Celtic spent £20m to bolster their championship winning side with similar expenditure expected again to allow Rodgers to put his stamp on the side.

A 6-4 defeat from Yokohama F Marinos highlighted problems in the Celtic defence but with just over two weeks to go till the SPFL gets underway there aren’t any hints of new recruits.

At the bottom of their post-match interview with Rodgers the Daily Record reports:

But Rodgers rubbished links with Gremio winger Ferreira in Brazil and Egyptian prospect Mohamed Reda. Rodgers said: “I don’t even know them to be honest.”

For now the guessing game goes on although Korean’s Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Yang Hyun-Jun appear to be well on the way to joining the Hoops.
