Despite happily accepting a so-called EBT payment from Dave Murray while he was in charge of Blackburn Rovers, Graeme Souness has rejected the offer of becoming an ambassador for the Ibrox Tribute Act.

It is another slap in the face for incoming CEO James Exciting Bisgrove who earlier this week signed up to a three year contract with TEG as compensation for breaking the contract for Ange’s Homecoming Tour.

Bisgrove leaked details of talks with Souness during the final month of the season with the Gullible & Deluded bears happy to lap up the news while Celtic completed the treble.

With an exciting new season about to kick-off and Bisgrove about to officially take on the CEO role Souness has knocked back a blazer and brogues and the adulation of a few visits a year to Ibrox.

Souness’ favourite newspaper, The Sun revealed:

GRAEME SOUNESS has turned down a sentimental return to Ibrox.

The former Rangers player and boss was asked to take on an ambassadorial role by the Glasgow giants in talks that have lasted for weeks.

However, Souness, 70, has pulled the plug on the move. Souey, no longer a TV pundit on Sky Sports, did not believes he would be able to help the Light Blues.

With the Scottish media littered with Kenny Miller, Neil McCann, Andy Halliday, Richard Forster, Alex Rae and various others there is little need for official ambassadors to share the exciting news that Bisgrove is forever creating inside Ibrox.
