The curse of the Celtic calendar…

It would be fair to say that June was something of an emotional month for Celtic supporters.

The euphoria of completing an eighth treble was quickly replaced by concern and worry as Ange Postecoglou left the club only for an unlikely hero to return in the shape of Brendan Rodgers.

Over the piece it seems a more than decent swap, replacing the manager than won five out of six trophies with someone that left with seven out of seven on his CV.

The end of June is normally fairly quiet but Celtic do things differently as the last few days of the month demonstrated.

Within the space of 48 hours there was news of Jota being sold to Al Ittihad followed by Aaron Mooy’s retirement then the launch of a heavily leaked and criticised home kit.

Thankfully the team will be playing again on July 19 as Rodgers gets fully on board putting his stamp on things even if he can’t control the club calendar.
