Hyun-jun Yang has offered to pay his salary to Gangwon in order to push through his proposed transfer to Celtic.

It seems that the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee and future sell on but the Korean side are adamant that there will be no summer deal while they are in mid-season.

Normally raising the transfer fee can overcome most hurdles but in a very unusual case it is being reported that the player is willing to pay his club to leave in mid-season.

It is an understatement to describe it as a unique situation with Korean publisher Kyunghyang Shinmun reporting Jun-Yang saying:

If the transfer fee isn’t enough, I’ll even give my salary. I want to go to Celtic this summer. I hope Gangwon will allow me to transfer.

My father and agent have asked for a meeting several times, but CEO Kim Byung-ji is not giving time. It is not an easy opportunity to get an offer in Europe.

My colleagues and seniors from other teams also tell me to go to Europe. I don’t think about staying in Gangwon right now.

Discussing the terms of the deal, Kyunghyang Shinmun adds:

Celtic and Gangwon FC recently agreed on Yang Hyun-jun’s transfer conditions. The transfer fee is 2.5 million euros, and 12% of sell on blood. A transfer fee of 2.5 million euros is a huge amount, approaching 3.5 billion won in Korean money. It is a much higher amount than the transfer fee that is generally incurred in the process of Korean and Japanese prospects advancing to Europe.

Sell on blood refers to part of the transfer fee income generated when Hyun-Jun Ang transfers from Celtic to another club. In other words, if Yang Hyun-joon transfers from Celtic to another club, Gangwon will receive an additional 12% of the transfer fee income. There is no denying that this is a very good condition.

On Friday Celtic signed Marco Tilio to add to their winger options although the advent of five substitutes regularly saw Ange Postecoglou fielding four wide men during domestic matches.

Retaining an unhappy player could be a dangerous route for Gangwon to go down but with Celtic about to start pre-season training and a new manager imposing his ideas on the squad the situation with Hyun-jun could be reaching a critical stage.

Would be good if the lad is allowed to join celtic soon.
I would like to see Abada stay at celtic, I preferred Abada on the right, Jota was far better on the left but Maeda who has been improving and proving to be one tough player had that side to himself
    Abada staying would be good.
Confirmed signings and rumoured interest is all very positive.
