‘Beale is a very lucky man’ ‘That was absolutely rotten’ ‘Bring back Alfie’ Ibrox fans start to turn on Beale

A VAR assisted win over Morton did nothing to convince angry bears that Micky Beale’s Revolution is on the right tracks.

At Morton’s second clear penalty claim David Dickinson reluctantly agreed to review Cyriel Dessers foul on Kirk Broadfoot. With the correct decision given Grant Gillespie scored from 12 yards to put the Championship strugglers in front.

On the hour mark eagle-eyed VAR David Munro helped Wilkinson out by picking up on a jersey pull by Broadfoot on Leon Balogun. It happens at almost every corner kick but in this case Dickinson pointed to the spot with Dessers equalising.

In the 68th minute Danilo put the home side in front but given half an hour against tiring lower division opponents there were no more goals for the home fans to celebrate.

Morton were only able to name four substitutes, one of them former Celtic keeper Ryan Mullen but it was Dougie Imrie’s side that finished the match looking the most likely to score.

There are some pretty serious doubts among Ibrox fans over whethere there is any improvement or even any difference to the dire football that Beale served up last season.

If there are any slip ups over the next four matches ( PSV Eindhoven, Ross County, PSV and Celtic) Beale will start to feel the pressure of boardroom expectations.

For now it looks like his Champions League hopes are dependent on miracles from Todd Cantwell and James Tavernier.
