Cameron Carter-Vickers is on schedule to be back in the Celtic side at the beginning of October.
The defender missed Celtic’s pre-season programme but got 45 minutes in against Athletic Bilbao, started in the SPFL opener at home to Ross County but was replaced at half time away to Aberdeen on August 13.
Ahead of the Viaplay Cup tie at Kilmarnock it was announced that Carter-Vickers would be out for two months/ eight weeks but at today’s media conference Rodgers had some better news to report on the former Spurs defender.

With some of these guys now it is just about when to put them in because some of them haven’t played for a period of time.
It is about finding the right game and the right moments, the right amount of game time so that they are not overloaded so, but great to have him (Hatate) back, and Marco Tilio has been out and training but he has missed all of pre-season so we’re just waiting on the right moments for him.

With his incredible domestic record of never having lost in 90 minutes as a Celtic player the return of a fully fit Carter-Vickers will bring some much needed stability to the Celtic defence.
Nat Phillips doesn’t look like he came on loan to sit on the bench which points to the Liverpool man teaming up with Carter-Vickers at a crucial stage of the season with Gus Lagerbielke and Liam Scales becoming back-up options.
