Crocked Cantwell reaches straight for the sympathy card

Todd Cantwell is preparing to become uber-staunch by launching a new sideline as a ‘Rangers fan’.

For nine months the former Norwich starlet has been playing to the gallery with the Gullible & Deluded lapping it all up.

Todd the Prod flags are on sale on matchdays at Ibrox with Cantwell realising how easy it is to get credibility among the Ibrox flock.

Yesterday Micky Beale announced that his star turn is injured but is unsure of he will be out for free or four matches or free or four weeks.

That opens the door for Sam Lammers to come into the side with Cantwell now confined to the role of a fan.

A year ago Cantwell would have struggled to name any of Giovanni van Bronockhorst’s squad but from today he’ll be cheering on the second best team in Glasgow for all his social media groupies to enjoy.

The big question today is whether the wounded warrior attends the match at McDiarmid Park alongside the bears that were screaming abuse at Cantwell and his team-mates after losing to Celtic.

Getting more social media content, perhaps wearing a tammie, buttoned up jacket and dark glasses is bound to appeal to him but someone inside the club might need to warn him about mixing with the customers.

There is an outside chance of dropped points today, if that happens things could get very nasty among the away fans which really isn’t Cantwell’s scene as he seeks approval at ever turn.

A few images of his leg in a brace watching at home on Sky Sports seems like a far better option.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

    Good effort Cantwell.

His stamina and commitment is really quite impressive:

he must be in the running for “Social Media Player of The Year”…?

And to be clear: the sevco d!ddy injured himself,

trying to have a swipe at Maeda after being easily

    shoulder-charged off the ball,

…and having his Alice Band dislodged. 🙂
