Ibrox club get their answer from SFA over Roofe ‘goal’

Two weeks ago today the media messengers were all over a letter to the SFA demanding an explanation for Kemar Roofe’s ‘goal’ against Celtic being disallowed following a VAR review.

It was a classic deflection tactic, the answer was known in advance but it served its purpose with angry bears getting something other than the multiple failings of Micky Beale to discuss.

When a player is in the act of kicking the ball and an opponent sticks his foot into the kicking arc it results in a free kick. There are examples of the Law of the Game being applied every weekend.

With the squirrel off and running there was no need for any follow up, the messengers job was done.

Beale picked up on the ‘officials not doing their job correctly’ in all of his weekend media interviews but no one thought to ask him about the SFA’s reply to the club letter.

As ever it was left to a fan media outlet to get the message out, keeping it all low key as another myth is allowed to settle about how the Roofe ‘goal’ was wrongly disallowed.

On Saturday Nick Walsh took it up to 60 SPFL matches without a penalty being awarded against the Ibrox Tribute Act.
