Neil McCann couldn’t hold his anger in as he watched Kemar Roofe’s ‘goal’ against Celtic get disallowed after a VAR check.

The former Hearts winger was as high as a kite as he watched Gustaf Lagerbielke get dispossessed by Cyriel Dessers with the ball quickly worked to Roofe who found the net from 12 yards out.

McCann sounded as if he was in with the Union Bears as he celebrated the ‘goal’ before it was pointed out that a VAR check was being carried out. His tone changed.

Listening back in car crash material as McCann’s worst fears are played out, there is the loud cheer when Don Robertson turns around from the monitor then that sinking feeling that play will restart with a Celtic free-kick rather the ball being centred.

McCann kept his anger going all through Sport sound, even when the Law was explained to him about Dessers sticking his foot in to prevent Lagerbielke completing his kicking arc.

The former Hearts star had calmed down a little by the time he appeared on Sportscene, while acknowledging that the Laws of the Game had been correctly applied he simply stated that the should have stood because he didn’t agree with the Law.
