Sead Haksabanovic looks to be in trouble with his international boss a week after being sent on loan to Stoke City on loan from Celtic.

That move came a few days after he had put up a post on Instagram complaining about not being appreciated. In Celtic’s first four matches of the season Haksabanovic made three appearances off the bench and failed to make the matchday squad for the SPFL opener at home to Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou brought the winger in on a five year contract in August 2022 but indifferent form and the reaction to that Instagram post suggests that he could have made his last Celtic appearance.

Bearing in mind the circumstances of his exit from Celtic you’d imagine that the chance to impress at international level would have a lot of appeal but it seems that Haksabanovic likes to do things a bit differently.

Strangely he opted to pull out of the Montenegro squad to tidy up business relating to his transfer but today he has returned to Instagram showing off the joys of a mid-season trip to Barcelona.

Reacting to Haksabanovic’s decision to opt out of the international double header The Sun reports Montenegro boss Miodrag Radulovic saying:

Sead contacted us and said that he needs to fulfil obligations related to moving from club to club, from Scotland to England, so we cannot count on him. Let him think about this decision.

The players show how much they care playing for our national team by the decisions they make. He’s decided to put his own personal situation first. So I will only concentrate on the players that are here and who do want to play for Montenegro.

Next Saturday Stoke City are away to Norwich, with six points from five matches manager Alex Neil is badly in need of three points.

    BAWBAG!

Sead had many chances to be recognised by the Celtic supporters as a Celtic player by putting the ball in the net after coming on as a substitute late in the game against sevco.
That is what you are judged on as a Celtic player. Unfortunately he never took any of those chances!
    What do you expect?

Thanks god he’s not here now. Don’t need attitudes like that at our club.

In that photo Haksa has his T-shirt sleeves rolled up: no coming back from that! 🙂

And if he’s on a CFC contract until 2027, then you can already predict

that he’s going to remain hanging around like a bad smell for most of that time,

because other clubs don’t want him – maybe due to his poor attitude?

I wouldn’t have signed him in the first place….Too hit and miss…and his attitude stank at times…Just my opinion.
