Nico Raskin has joined his bestie Todd Cantwell in the treatment room.

The dynamic duo moved to Ibrox in January to give the Micky Beale regime credibility with some outstanding performances in the games that didn’t matter.

After being crushed by PSV Eindhoven and Celtic Raskin and Cantwell have called in sick with neither likely to play again until after the October international break.

It looks like John Lundstram, Ryan Jack and Jose Cifuentes will start against Betis with Beale knowing that one more embarrassment and the pressure to sack the manager will become hard for the Ibrox board to resist.

Asked if Raskin will play against Betis on Thursday night, Football Scotland reports Beale saying:

No Nico is out until after the international break with a calf problem. He took a kick in the game and afterwards it’s given him a problem in his muscle.

Raskin, Cantwell and Danilo will be missing. We still have options in midfield – we are losing a good player but we have good ones coming in.

Beale was only able to name 21 players in the squad registered with UEFA, with three of them out injured the bench tomorrow will be filled with teenagers plus Scot Wright and home developed goalkeepers Kieran Wright and Robbie McCrorie.
