Staunch Martindale jumps to the defence of Beale

David Martindale has jumped to the defence of his mate Mick Beale and is backing the under fire boss to win over angry bears.

Tomorrow night Livingston visit Ibrox in the League Cup after Martindale took a seat in the Directors Box against Motherwell to pick up on the levels of abuse that is being directed at the Ibrox boss.

The Livi boss has a fawning attitude to all things Ibrox with a special soft spot for Captain Disappointed, after watching his side lose to a Tavernier free kick Martindale smiled through interviews gushing about how ‘Tav doing what Tav does’.

Despite having served a lengthy jail sentence for drug dealing and money laundering there are many Ibrox fans that would love to see the Livi boss measured up for brogues and a blazer, bringing in a True Blue to install some old school standards to their failing Tribute Act.

Talking up all things Ibrox is no effort for Martindale who knows that a win for Livingston on Wednesday night will strengthen his case to take over from Beale as the men in the Blue Room look for a cheap solution that will buy them some time and goodwill from fans who are desperate to see Beale removed as manager.

Robbie Neilson, Derek McInnes and Billy Davies are the main contenders to take over from Beale.
