The ultimate Alfredo Morelos insult

Alfredo Morelos’ hopes of a dream move to Turkey are in tatters this morning as Albian Ajeti prepares to relaunch his career with Gazientep FK.

It seems that three years loitering around at Celtic means more in Turkey than being the European record goalscorer with the Ibrox Tribute Act.

Three months after his last competitive match and perhaps 18 months since his last serious training session it seems that doors are closing everywhere on the chunky Colombian.

As well as his lack of conditioning it seems that Morelos’ disciplinary record has suddenly came to the attention of Fenerbahce who were hoping to reunite the Dream Team with Ryan Kent.

Eight red cards during six seasons at Ibrox probably equates to 20 plus away from Scotland as reality bites at the age of 27, normally peak years for a footballer.

The Daily Record reports:

He was whisked into Turkey for talks – but Alfredo Morelos has been left counting the cost of Rangers cautions in Fenerbache transfer talks.

According to reports coming out of the country, the Colombian international -has been left stood up on deadline day as he seeks another club. A disappointing final term at Ibrox had him leave as a free agent earlier this summer – despite being available on a pre-contract from January – and now looks likely to head into the autumn unattached.

The report also claims: “Another reason why Fenerbahce decided to stop the transfer of Alfredo Morelos was shown as the aggressive attitude of the player. Yellow-Lacivertlier did not want to take risks because of the Colombian’s movements on the field.”

The Record can now continue with their stream of Morelos transfer stories, it seems that things have gone quiet on the Santos trail funded by the £120m loss that PSG took on Neymar.
