Anger levels reached a new peak tonight as loyal bears watched their side lose 2-1 to ARIS Limassol in the Europa League.

ARIS are currently sitting in fifth place in the Cypriot League and playing in Europe for the second time, last season they were knocked out in a Conference League qualifier.

With Beale binned the Ibrox board turned to two men that are steeped in the apparent traditions of the club, Steve Davis and Alex Rae.

Despite the change in management the Starting XI was on familiar lines with five Europa League finalists bolstered by summer signings such as Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers.

A sloppy star was duly punished in the eighth minute when Alex Moucketou-Moussounda sent a glancing header beyond Jack Butland right in front of the 1,800 travelling bears.

ARIS were denied what appeared to be a clear penalty right on half time but justice was done in the 59th minute when Shavy Babicka netted after John Lundstram had been skinned for pace.

Abdallah Sima pulled a goal back in the 70th minute but the Cypriot side held on fairly comfortably to take full points.

At the final whistle the Ibrox stars kept a safe distance from the away support but on the club’s Twitter account there was no hiding place.
