Another catastrof**k- watch David Edgar slaughter ‘pathetic, shameful, embarrassing’ display in Cyprus

The strains of the last five weeks were released by David Edgar as he assessed his team’s 2-1 defeat from ARIS Limassol in the Europa League.

Back-to-back defeats from PSV Eindhoven and Celtic were followed by four wins and four clean sheets as Micky Beale continued in a job despite most fans wanting him chased out of town.

Now another pair of defeats have chased Beale from the premises and handed the baton on to the True Blue pairing of Steven Davis and Alex Rae. It seems that their qualities weren’t enough to get a reaction out of a group of players that have zero appetite for their job.

Edgar is now into his fourth year as an on-message media cheerleader but it looks like last night was a defeat too far.

You have to reflect the views of your audience first and foremost, if that means missing out on cosy chats with Lammers, Dessers, Tav and the rest of the flops it is a small price to pay to retain credibility.

We were humiliated

A Rangers display that was pathetic, shameful, embarrassing and in the end disgraceful.

That was just spineless by a group of players who when the going gets tough they hide under the table.

Even though there will only be 1,600 bears at St Mirren on Sunday they won’t be slow to let the Ibrox stars know their feelings.

Next week most of Davis’ squad will be enjoying a well deserved break before the tougher SPFL fixtures are dished out.
