Carnage- Ally McCoist’s fears after humiliation in Cyprus

It takes a lot to wipe the smile from Ally McCoist’s face.

After losing in the final of the 2015 Petrofac Cup to Raith Rovers the big hearted Ibrox boss raised the spirits with a few Karaoke classics at the post match wake inside Ibrox.

Defeats to Alloa, Forfar, Falkirk and Queen of the South failed to crush his morale as he bounced back in training by inviting strikers to fire a ball against his back-side from 20 yards out.

Watching Celtic strike up a seven point lead in the SPFL Premiership was enough to get Micky Beale sacked, last night McCoist expected a solid reaction from the True Blue management team of Steve Davis and Alex Rae. It was all that he feared.

Picking up on his appearance on TalkSPORT this morning the Daily Record reports McCoist saying:

It’s been carnage. It was poor last night – really, really poor. I watched it and we’re just going to have to change direction and get somebody in.

It seems that McCoist isn’t interested in a return to the dug-out with Frank Lampard and Kevin Muscat the front runners to replace Beale.

If things go badly wrong at St Mirren on Sunday there will be pressure on the board to install an experienced caretaker with Neil Warnock, Sam Allardyce, Alex McLeish and Graeme Souness the main contenders.
