Clueless McCoist left in the dark over next Ibrox manager

Ally McCoist has been broadcasting how far out of the loop he is in the search for a new manager at Ibrox.

In December 2014 the former Question of Sport skipper walked away onto gardening leave as he soaked every last penny out of the Tribute Act.

Legends like Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Micky Beale have followed McCoist have onto the payroll with another boss expected to be named in the next fortnight.

With his multiple media roles McCoist should have more of an idea over what is going on in the recruitment process but the Daily Record reports:

Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast Show, McCoist was put on the spot over Eustace landing the Rangers job. He said: “Yeah, I think he is in the running. I think he will get an interview.” He then attempted to move the conversation on: “I didn’t realise Graeme Souness was involved in the interviews…”

John Eustace has barely any more experience than Beale, even the Ibrox power-brokers won’t be trying that stunt on their angry supporter base.

If Phillipe Clement or Kevin Muscat are unwilling to work with a token January transfer warchest it looks like Steve Davis and Alex Rae will continue in charge with Derek McInnes the only other viable option to work with the squad constructed by Beale.
