Out of all news stories floating around today BBC Scotland have turned to TeamTalk for their lead gossip story.

TeamTalk, like Football Insider is the very definition of click-bait. Link together a couple of big names and thrown ‘our sources’ into the mix and you have a story with no credibility that will attract the curious.

Apparently Brentford are considering a January bid for Matt O’Riley.

A bigger EXCLUSIVE! would be if there are any EPL clubs that AREN’T considering making a bid for the outstanding Celtic midfielder.

Still only 22 he spent a decade in the Fulham Academy, turned down another contract to get first team football at MK Dons that has led to Celtic, Champions League football and a call up to the full Danish international side.

After two outstanding Champions League displays against clubs from Italy and Spain it is only natural that English clubs will be looking very carefully at O’Riley.

With a staff list that pays Tom English, Kenny Macintyre, Chris McLaughlin and Alasdair Lamont it is hardly a surprise that the BBC turns to commercial operators to put something readable on their webpages.

The close season excitement of Brendan Rodgers being under pressure from a real challenge from Ibrox is looking to be on fragile ground, if Macintyre and English trample their ample frames on that story it is likely to collapse under their feet.
