Hearts fail to sell out Tynecastle with Celtic tickets still on sale

Any Hearts fan that fancies watching their team on Sunday can click on to their club website and buy a ticket or two, apparently there is quite a lot of choice.

Any Celtic fan wanting to watch the champions in action will have to settle for Sky Sports with just 571 tickets given to away fans.

There has been lots of chat about allocations this week with Brendan Rodgers and Steven Naismith involved without any conclusion as the Away Day becomes a rarity in Scottish football.

Naismith talked about growing the fan base but watching his style of football isn’t going to encourage many Jambos to part with £33 when they can watch the game in the pub with some lunch or dinner and come home with change compared to a trip to Tynecastle.

When Celtic won 3-0 in the Scottish Cup at the start of March they had 3,500 fans in the Roseburn Stand, clinching the SPFL title in May the ticket allocation was down to 1,200.

Hearts are perfectly entitled to do anything that they like for SPFL matches at Tynecastle, just as they can appoint any rookie manager to take charge of the first team.

Next Saturday at Easter Road Celtic will have 3,591 tickets for a match not on Sky Sports.
