Up until kick-off against Celtic on September 3 Micky Beale was still getting sugar coated coverage in the Scottish media.
The Brains Behind Gerrard didn’t know when to stop as he filled up air time for broadcasters and handed publishers lots of content to keep their target audience convinced that the good times were just around the corner.
But after losing to Celtic the penny dropped, Beale was the latest poundland Messiah unable to stop the trophies piling up at Celtic Park, even with Todd Cantwell and Nico Raskin on his team-sheet.

There is no sugar coating that summary of Beale’s time at Ibrox, the news clip is almost factual in its honesty.
At least Giovanni van Bronckhorst delivered a Scottish Cup, beating Celtic in the semi-final and a fluky run to the final of the Europa League where only the intervention of Aaron Ramsey saved the day.
Losing repeatedly to Celtic proved to be Beale’s downfall. If his successor loses to Brendan Rodgers on December 30 the clock will soon be ticking down on their departure from the club.
