The Union Bears made their feelings very clear with a banner protest 10 minutes into their match away to St Mirren.

Defeats to Aberdeen and ARIS Limassol delivered a dash of reality to the Ibrox fan-base but with an in-built superiority complex there has to be scapegoats.

Two trophy wins in a decade is an accurate reflection of the Ibrox club in the Scottish game but being constantly told that there are following a global institution with a winning mentality is difficult for many bears to come to terms with.

Ironically James Tavernier scored twice in today’s 3-0 win to avoid further humiliation but including the word LEADERSHIP in the protest was a clear reference to the former Wigan Athletic ace.

Steve Davis and Alex Rae steered the squad through today’s match without any further mishap but their cause was greatly helped by Ryan Strain’s decision to handle a cross that resulted in a penalty and red card being dished out.

The Ibrox board now has 13 days before their next match but with Frank Lampard, Graham Potter and Kevin Muscat making themselves scarce Davis and Rae could be in charge until the next defeat.
