Celtic’s B team are in action tonight against Brighton in the EPL International Cup.

Players under-21 can be used but it is effectively an u-19 side selected by Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea with the same squad involved on Tuesday in the UEFA Youth League away to Lazio.

It is quite a contrast for the young Celts from their domestic fixtures in the Lowland League.

HALF TIME: Brighton 3-1 Celtic

Unfortunately Brighton took the lead in the fourth minute with a free header from a corner buried past Josh Clarke in the Celtic goal. In the 10th minute the lead was doubled through Mark O’Mahony with the Irish striker putting his side 3-0 in front after 27 minutes.

Seven minutes from half-time Mackenzie Carse pulled a goal back with a low drive from 15 yards finding the net.

In their opening match in the competition Celtic lost 5-0 at West Ham, all matches are played in England with Celtic facing Chelsea on December 20. Southampton, Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb and Valencia are also in the group.
