Throughout two spells in charge of Celtic Brendan Rodgers has been incredibly diplomatic.

There has been more than a few occasions when he could criticise referees and decisions taken but for his own reasons he has kept quiet.

Back in April 2017 there was one exception when Don Robertson awarded a penalty to Ross County for an outrageous dive as Erik Sviatchenko moved towards the ball.

The SFA handed Alex Schalk a two match suspension, Robertson’s career has progressed with two Glasgow Derbies this year confirming his status in the game.

Back in Dingwall yesterday there were a number of decisions that infuriated the Celtic support, speaking to The Scotsman Rodgers shared some of that frustration:

I haven’t [seen them again] but at the time, our replay on the side I felt it took an eternity for the VAR decisions. So I don’t know about the offside one, it was very close. But the other one, it’s two guys who have jumped for the ball. I don’t know where the foul was so that was disappointing. I thought it should have been a goal.

Celtic went on to win the match 3-0 despite the controversies over decision making.

The image produced to justify offside being given against a ‘goal’ from Oh Hyeon-gyu was far from convincing but it would be a major surprise if Referee Chief Crawford Allan came out with explanations.

Andrew Dallas is a full time VAR official.

I would have preferred BR to be “angrier” and more critical of the decisions…but maybe its a step in the right direction…Let’s hope so…its LONG overdue.

Take a leaf out of artetas book ,he didn’t hold back against a refereeing decision and his board backed him to the hilt ,take note Celtics spineless wonders of a board, they’re obviously terrified of SEVCO or the SFA because why do they never speak out about the blatant cheating in the Scottish game.

  • Suspiciousmind says:

The VAR technology is shit along with the decision makers. Only confirms the level of cheating. Non Scottish VAR referees? Although not perfect anything would would be an improvement on the present inconsistencies and incompetence displayed in favour of one team only.
