It looks like the end is nigh for Todd Cantwell’s Ibrox love affair.

The former Norwich City starlet has played to the gallery since day one but it seems that Philippe Clement can see straight through the star of social media.

When you get substituted by Scott Wright it really is time to take stock, to be fair to the former Aberdeen man he has now scored more goals than TikTok with the season now into November.

Getting routinely trashed by Chris Sutton no longer appears to be TikTok’s biggest issue, with Micky Beale sacked the new manager at Ibrox doesn’t have to play Cantwell to justify the massive weekly wage being paid out.

Watching Michael Stewart’s take on the today’s substitution against Hearts, the Daily Record reports the former Manchester United man saying:

Todd Cantwell going off at half time, and I’m unsure whether it was an injury, the yellow or Clement being unhappy with his performance but he (Cantwell) didn’t look particularly happy at the end of the game. It will be interesting to see what the reason was.

Clement wasn’t sugar coating his decision, bringing on a team player for a show pony, the former Monaco boss told the Record:

It was more of a tactical one. Also with his yellow card I didn’t want to take chances with that – I knew they would try and irritate Todd more – and with Scott and his energy I wanted to rotate with the two of them like the last couple of weeks because I want fresh players up front. It was just a tactical one.

On Thursday Sparta Prague visit Ibrox in the Europa League with Cantwell and Wright competing for one place. If TikTok loses out to the former Aberdeen man he’ll have more to worry about than home truths from Sutton.
