Just over a month ago Gus Lagerbielke was scoring for Sweden in a friendly against Moldova on the back of playing in the Champions League and in Celtic’s victory in the Glasgow Derby at Ibrox.
Last night, in international week the defender was in the Celtic XI playing in a testimonial at Dundee with a collection of players more used to playing Cumbernauld Colts and Broomhill Sports Club than facing Lazio or Atletico Madrid.

Lagerbielke had a steady start to his Celtic career but it has nose-dived since he picked up his second yellow card away to Feyenoord as Celtic fell 2-0 down to the Dutch champions.
At the same time Liam Scales was going from strength to strength and now has 15 consecutive appearances to his name, holding off the challenges from Nat Phillips and Maik Nawrocki.
Yuki Kobayashi also played last night as another reminder of hos quickly a career can go into free-fall.
Celtic have 11 matches to play before the winter break starts on January 2 but it is hard to see where Lagerbielke or Kobayashi will fit on.
