Celtic briefing their media friends at the Daily Record over Green Brigade ban

After six home matches played in front of very muted crowds Celtic have been briefing their media chums about their fall out with the Green Brigade.

Only 267 fans have been suspended but the knock on effect on almost 55,000 others has been marked with supporters able to hear the shouts between players at matches.

Embarrassingly Motherwell and Hibs supporters have been out-singing the home support something that will be very evident tomorrow when Hearts fans taunt their guests.

When you are having out free tickets to schoolkids for Champions League matches there is something badly wrong with other supporters looking for a resolution to the issue.

There will be no more UEFA matches with the prospect of fines this season but the suspension continues.

Clearly aware that the Green Brigade has the sympathy of a very large number of supporters Celtic tonight issued a comment to their long term business partners at the Daily Record following a tweet from the North Curve/Green Brigade:

But Celtic have hit back and have again insisted that refunds are available for those banned, with respect of rules the way to merit a lifting of restrictions. It reads: “The club is currently in communication and engagement with the group in question with a view to returning to a situation where rules and regulations around operating safely are respected and complied with. The club has already stated very clearly that refunds for any match or matches during this suspension will be available.”

When you are happier dealing with the Daily Record than your own long term customers it really is time to act grown up and resolve an issue that is having a damaging impact on many areas of the club.

Celtic’s preferred fan media sites have been excluded from tonight’s statement.
