Scott Brown expects a strong January transfer window to revive Celtic’s season.

The hoops are sitting at the top of the SPFL Premiership table but Sunday’s defeat at Kilmarnock was the fourth time in 17 matches that they have dropped points.

Very few of those 13 other matches have seen the team hit top form with comparisons to last season painting the current campaign in a poor light.

One huge factor so far this season has been the lack of impact made by the seven signings made in the summer with only Luis Palma making a contribution.

Gus Lagerbielke, Marco Tilio and Kwon Hyeuk-kyu barely getting near the substitute bench over the last few months.

Recently Rodgers has been talking about the need to add quality in the January transfer window with Brown telling the Daily Record:

January is coming around and there are a lot of players who will move out and move in. It is part and parcel of football. I am sure he has got his eye on a few.

Right now he will be calm and collected. Sometimes you rage and sometimes you have that understanding. He will step back, he will reflect on the game and they will go again. They have got a big European game on Wednesday and then Hearts at home on Saturday. He will be looking to bounce back.

Under Ange Postecoglou Celtic had January deals in place and and announced before the Transfer Window opened with players like Alistair Johnston, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate settled in and ready to go straight into the team.

According to Rodgers his role is now to identify the positions that need strengthened, profile them with Mark Lawwell coming back with the players to provide the solution.

Johnston made his debut at Ibrox on January 2, Celtic’s first match after the transfer window opens is away to St Mirren on that same date.
