Reality returned for the Gullible & Deluded last night with the honeymoon over for their Belgian magician.

After nine matches that have delivered three draws the boos were ringing around Ibrox last night as the players thanked the loyal bears that had stayed around after the final whistle blew on their 1-1 draw with ARIS Limassol.

Before the kick off all that was needed was a win against the eighth best team in Cyprus, minus their star striker, to ensure a place in the knock out stage of the Europa League.

At the final whistle Clement’s side now need to get a win away to Real Betis in a fortnight to stay in the competition- assuming that Sparta Prague who beat the Spaniards last night finish with a win in Cyprus.

There is an ominous feel to the final matchday with a nucleus of serial losers bolstered by Micky Beale’s summer misfits. Even the bears can see how this one is likely to turn out. Three days later they face Aberdeen in the final of the League Cup.

Among the problems facing Mister Clement is the petted lip of Todd Cantwell.

The star of TikTok was furious when he made the long walk off in the 35th minute to be replaced by Ross McCausland while Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes toiled away in midfield.

That decision didn’t go down well with the angry bears inside the stadium and online, the People that hounded out the two previous managers after 12 months and 10 months. Mister Clement is under contract until 2027.
