Philippe Clement has accused St Johnstone of kicking John Lundstram off the pitch.

The Scary Scouser was substituted at half-time in last night’s 2-0 win over the Perth club and looks like being out injured until after the winter break.

After initially booking Diallang Jaiyesim for a foul on Lundstram in the 33rd minute, a VAR check prompted Alan Muir to upgrade his decision to a red card.

Lundstram was attended to on the pitch by the Ibrox medical team who allowed him to play on, a further check at half-time and it was game over with Dujon Sterling sent on for the second half.

Covering the incident, BBC Scotland reports:

β€œAt first sight it doesn’t look good so I hope I can recover him before the winter break,” said Clement of Lundstram.

“It’s another player who is kicked off the pitch, so I am really frustrated with that. It’s his ankle so we will see in the next couple of days what will happen.

“It clearly wasn’t a good challenge with your studs forward like that. We had an even worse one later in the game when the guy luckily hit the ball and not my player [Dan Phillips on Kieran Dowell], the intensity there was to break a leg. Those things are not good for football.”

Rather than blame St Johnstone Clement should maybe investigate his medical team who allowed the Scary Scouser to play on for 15 minutes while carrying an injury.

Carrying 14 stone across the heavy Ibrox pitch on a December evening could do untold damage to an ankle injury. Big Lunny is out of contract in June and able to sign a pre-contract deal elsewhere on January 1.

Kemar Roofe was substituted after 15 minutes, looking distressed after taking a shot at goal from 25 yards out that didn’t involve any physical contact.

My thoughts exactly, just hope it’s nothing trivial, he deserves all the shit that comes his way as do most of his team-mates. Dirty, diving scum!

    • TicToc says:

I replied but it’s gone for moderating. Just to add, it hasn’t taken Clemente long to figure out that that shower are perennial victims and need to squawk their imaginary grievances at any given opportunity.
      Despicable scum!

Karma indeed. Took Kyogo out after 5 mins and no yellow even. Tried to break the young Hibs full back leg and zero red. Dirtiest player in Scotland bar none.

I think the cowardly Ryan Jack might give him a run. Jack has never gone 50/50 in his life. He prefers the sly and sleekit late tackles, knowing that he will never be penalised when wearing his xxxl sized Sevco top.

That is a really disappointing quote from Clement, who I had thought was

    looking like a decent manager.

    It immediately reminded me of the [heavily ironic] Souness quote back in the day;

“Scottish football is full of hammer throwers!”

Clement playing to the gallery already,

and needlessly whipping up his excitable support. πŸ™

At least he called out what he sees as a bad tackle on one of his playing staff…

If it was Brendan and Celtic though –
