Talks scheduled- Two European clubs linked with Celtic striker

Juventus and Monaco are the latest clubs linked with signing Rocco Vata.

The teenager is out of contract at the end of the season and seems certain to leave Celtic for a UEFA agreed fee of £340,000 based on his time at the club.

Last season Vata made four brief appearances off the bench but with a stand-off over a contract extension he hasn’t been involved in any matchday squads under Brendan Rodgers.

Vata’s agents have done a fantastic job keeping their client in the spotlight on the back of playing in the UEFA Youth League and for Ireland at u-19 and u-21 level.

With a few weeks to go until the January transfer window opens, Football Scotland reports:

Juventus and AS Monaco have joined a list of European heavyweights interested in taking Rocco Vata off Celtic’s hands.

The youngster, 18, has a list of potential suitors ahead of the January transfer window and possibly beyond that in summer should no deal be struck in that time. Football Scotland can reveal the two clubs have both scheduled talks with Vata’s representatives for the coming weeks as they seek a cut-price £340,000 deal in cross-border compensation.

In January Celtic could agree a transfer deal that gives them a percentage of a future fee and other add-ons but ultimately any move will be determined by the player.

Kieran Tierney in 2015 was the last player to emerge from the Celtic Academy to become a first team regular.
