It seems like a calf injury to Greg Taylor has forced Celtic’s recruitment team into an increased level of activity.

Brendan Rodgers’ requests for quality have so far been met with the signing of Nicolas Kuhn who takes his place alongside Luis Palma, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Mikey Johnston, James Forrest, Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada for a place on the wing.

Taylor has started all 30 of Celtic’s matches this season with the lack of competition and cover an obvious weakness in the squad that Brendan Rodgers has inherited.

Late on against Buckie Thistle Taylor developed a calf issue that is likely to keep him out of action for the next couple of games- which looks like covering away matches at Aberdeen, Hibs and St Mirren.

Alexandro Bernabei has been restricted to four substitute appearances this season and was left out of Celtic’s Champions League squad, the other current options are Michel Frame and Liam Scales.

Hendry came to prominence when he was first to report the news of Celtic’s interest in signing Alexandro Bernabei from Lanus in June 2022.

Rodgers states in the summer we need about 4 quality players in. We get a barrow full of prospects .
So coming into the winter window we still need the 4 as previously stated and with a week to go we have one player in , who knows if he is gonna be a first team starter or not
Our recruitment team seem to be asleep at the wheel.
You have to wonder if Lawell senior was brought back to protect lawell junior. Did big Ange see the future and head for the hills

  • the maister says:

Could have recalled Adam Montgomery. But that might have been too straightforward!

  • Jack says:

We haven’t a bad squad and it takes a good player to get into squad but it takes patients only desperate teams buy any player to appease there supporters Rodgers says the board have backed him they should scrap January transfer look at how many top players or clubs do business in January window we have a squad that will win the double I’d go as far to say we won’t lose a point or cup game our team are getting our injured players back for a month yes we beat feyenord who will do well in europa cup but the disappointment the platers felt going out off Europe then the next game on a plastic pitch in a monsoon then hearts at home the scored with two set pieces we missed a couple chances brought players in johston for the injured maeda done nothing in the game our wingers were poor so our fullbacks couldn’t move forward you can see differents Bernardo winning second ball on left Taylor more passes forward cause off Bernardo movement yes goalkeeper leftback Hart was poor against the hearts and should have saved both free kicks hearts and sevco no matter what media says we have far the best team in the spl uf all stay fit O’Riley says the pitch is not at it best that’s a worry cause the way the team play

Use a full stop occasionally ffs. It’s almost impossible to follow what you’re talking about

      • SFATHENADIROFCHIFTINESS says:

I actually asked him to request a box of full stops & commas for Xmas present. Obviously didn’t work.

  • KC67 says:

‘An increased level of activity’ – is that from comatose to semi-comatose.

And by the way, grifters don’t work hard.

  • James o'raw says:

Are you finished you have not put a full stop….

  • Jack says:

Sorry full stop infuture but do u agree we have by far the best squad and wait till right player is available.

  • Paul Mac says:

The fact that Bernabei was left out of the Euro squad is in my opinion not too relevant. More to do with the fact that we needed to register McCarthy to satisfy the home grown quota than anything else. Look across the city they are so bloated with non Scottish trained players that they could only register 22. Not for one minute saying he is the answer just arguing that his lack of registration is due to the need to meet the quota.

Editor: McCarty wasn’t in this season’s UEFA squad, Mikey Johnston was listed with Taylor, Turnbull and Bain as one of the Association trained players. McGregor, Welsh, Forrest and Ralston were club trained. Those UEFA guidelines are helpful, 17 imports is plenty, we have around 25 clogging the squad up.

WWE’s world’s strongest man covers Scottish football? How is his son ‘hand’ doing? 90s pro-wrestling references FTW!

  • Mark Nugent says:

Poor Jack, not everyone has a great grasp on punctuation, been accused of it myself. A wee bit dyslexic. Seems people are slagging his style because they want to argue with his content but can’t. HH Jack.

  • Owen Mullions says:

Don’t make assumptions. I’m not arguing with his content, I’m asking him to make it more readable so we don’t just scroll past it.

  • Sid says:

I’m certainly not agreeing with his point, punctuation aside. The facts are we are regressing with every window since Lawwell was hired. This is way too close to call with officials in Scotland. We are regressing and we are gambling whether we stumble over the line or not.
Fans should demand both Lawwells are replaced, the gap is closing despite one club being broke and the other the richest in it’s history, if you had any awareness you would then realise, people are not doing their jobs. Simple really.
