Cameron Carter-Vickers was a notable absentee as SNS posted 71 images from training at Lennoxtown today.

The defender felt a hamstring twinge early in the second half of the December 26 win away to Dundee and has been out of action since then.

Stephen Welsh replaced Carter-Vickers at Dundee but after he was injured Maik Nawrocki has started the last two matches, partnering Liam Scales in central defence.

Ahead of the Scottish Cup tie against Buckie Thistle Brendan Rodgers suggested that Carter-Vickers was being held back with a view to being involved in the resumption of the SPFL Premiership on Saturday when Ross County visit Celtic Park.

There could be a very innocent explanation for the former Spurs man being missing from today’s training images but after a run of injury issues in central defence supporters will be concerned about the absence.

Nawrocki, Scales, Welsh and Gus Lagerbielke are all featured in today’s pictures from training.
