Gus Lagerbielke appears to have three Italian clubs looking to sign him on loan this month.

It seems strange that someone way down the pecking order at Celtic has generated so much interest from one of the big five leagues but that is why players employ agents to seek out potential moves.

Lagerbielke has certainly had an eventful time at Celtic which includes scoring the winning goal in a Champions League match, being sent off against the same club on his debut in that competition, scoring for Sweden and dropping down to fifth choice at Celtic following his £3m move in August from Elfsborg.

The Daily Record reports:

Hellas Verona are the latest Italian club considering a loan move for Celtic’s Gustaf Lagerbielke.

The Swedish international has been linked with moves to rivals Genoa and Lecce. Record Sport understands Verona are now also looking closely at the 23-year-old. Lagerbielke’s name has been put around a number of Serie A clubs. Lagerbielke moved to Celtic in January from Elfsborg but has struggled to hold down one of the central defensive berths in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

He has fallen behind Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki, Liam Scales and Stephen Welsh in that particular fight Celtic could let him go out in January as they look to free up wages and to trim their squad. Verona are no strangers to the Scottish market. They have signed Josh Doig from Hibs and are currently considering some big-money moves on the young left-back.

Since scoring the winner against Feyenoord in the Champions League on December 7 Lagerbielke has been restricted to one brief substitute appearance for Celtic with Stephen Welsh and Maik Nawrocki both starting matches.

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he has the final say in all transfers with the willingness to move on a player after less than six months at Celtic putting his judgement in question.

    I wouldn’t listen to The Daily Record…

Anything they publish about Celtic will surely be Negative and Lies –

We have seen that on here often enough !

Aye, Brendan has the final say, and he has that piecea shit Lawwell’s permission to say so.
I hope I’m mis-judging the Celtic supporters’ appetite for rebellion but unfortunately I don’t think so. When Lawwell says “They’ll get what they’re given”, most of us just say meh!
    Therein lies the problem.

I apologize to Brendan. Inappropriate. The portrait was a gift from a Charity in Swansea,
