Celtic are reported to have cooled their interest in Tiago Araujo.
Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail was one of the first to flag up the prospect of the Estoril defender making a January move to Celtic.
Coming through the Benfica Academy at the same time as Jota and Paulo Bernardo the 22-year-old moved to Estoril in the summer of 2022 where he has been enjoying regular first team football.
Greg Taylor has started every Celtic match this season which has left the club vulnerable to any injury with Alexandro Bernabei failing to build on the game time he picked up last season under Ange Postecoglou.

Celtic’s transfer interest in a move for Tiago Araujo has cooled after they made initial contact for the player.
The Estoril full-back, 22, was the subject of an approach from the Hoops back in November to check on the conditions and asking price but Football Scotland has learned that was the last approach made about the versatile left-sided player.
Araujo shone last season for Estoril having joined from Benfica just over 18 months ago and that sparked interest from Celts who have done some strong business in the Portuguese market in recent seasons.
Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for a left-back to challenge Greg Taylor this term with Alexandro Bernabei seemingly not cut out to be a serious contender for the first-team berth.
That report comes from Mark Hendry who established is credentials by being first to reveal Celtic’s interest in Bernabei at roughly the same time as Araujo was leaving Benfica for Estoril.
So far there has been no concrete signs of Celtic signing anyone in this window despite Brendan Rodgers going on record as looking to add four quality starters when he returned to the hoops in June.
