Following a request from Ibrox the SFA have kept Willie Collum away from the next two fixtures for Philippe Clement’s side.

On Tuesday it was announced that Steven McLean will referee the midweek match at Hibs, late this afternoon Alan Muir was revealed as the man in charge of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie at Dumbarton.

With John Beaton taking charge of the final pre-break fixture at home to Kilmarnock and Andrew Dallas doubling up on VAR duty it almost appears that Ibrox social media accounts are getting to select their own match officials.

Normally in the limelight Collum will be in charge of Saturday’s match between Spartans and Hearts.

After sending three statements to media partners following the defeat to Celtic a line was crossed when the Heart & Hand podcast was chosen to disclose the news that a request had been made to the SFA to have Collum excluded from their future fixtures.

Back in the 2018/19 season Collum went six months without refereeing Steven Gerrard’s side, now after the request has gone public the pressure is on to see whether they back Collum or follow instructions from Ibrox fan media websites.
