In a bizarre twist as the transfer window closes the manager of East Kilbride has taken time out to criticise Celtic’s recruitment.

Mick Kennedy’s side is currently at the top of the Lowland League and well on course for the Play Offs and the chance of a place in the SPFL.

East Kilbride have beaten Celtic B three times this season, famously last season Kennedy led Darvel to a Scottish Cup win over Aberdeen with the Dons now searching for their second manager since that result.

Kennedy is a keen user of X (Twitter) but it is virtually unknown for the manager of one football club to volunteer his thoughts on a critical aspect of how another club operates.

Celtic fans have flooded X with views, discussion and criticism of the club’s activities during the transfer window, it seems that the draw of the debate has drawn in a football manager operating four levels below- and a potential League Cup opponent for the hoops in August.

Kennedy’s assistant manager, Si Ferry is the host of the popular Open Goal podcast.
