Joe Ledley believes that Celtic can still win the SPFL title if they can get over the ‘present blip’.

Not many fans would describe the current form as a blip with points dropped in two of the last three SPFL matches on top of back to back defeats from Kilmarnock and Hibs.

Over less than three months, including a winter break and transfer window, Celtic have dropped 10 points and crucially slipped to second place in the SPFL Premiership.

Ledley won and lost titles during an eventful spell at Celtic which included the critical winner in the December 2011 Glasgow Derby that sent Neil Lennon’s side into top place and turning around a 15 point deficit in two months.

There are multiple problems at Celtic ranging from injuries, inadequate signings, baffling tactics and second half tail-offs but Ledley told the Daily Record that there remains hope of winning the title:

At the moment it’s probably not the team he wants and hopefully he will have other transfer windows to bring other players in. But Brendan can still do this. It’s difficult just now, but Celtic are still firmly in the running and I still believe they have the better team on paper. But it’s about getting over the present blip.

Whatever has been involved Rodgers has been involved in the signings of 12 players over two windows with only Luis Palma and Paolo Bernardo having any positive impact.

Against Kilmarnock Bernardo started on the substitute bench while Palma was replaced at half-time.
