David Begg has slammed the unacceptable level of boas from Kenny Miller.

For 30 years Begg was one of the main commentators on Radio Scotland, covering all of the top matches up until his retirement in 2012 from the state broadcaster.

That generation was almost exclusively made up of Rangers fans but they tried their best to cover their allegiances although now and then the mask of neutrality would slip. Pre social media their outbursts never went viral.

Having failed miserably in three different attempts at management Miller has slipped into a media career where BBC Scotland, Sky Sports, Radio Clyde and TalkSPORT all think that it is worthwhile paying for his views. Topping it off the Daily Record puts a column in his name every Sunday even though his thoughts and views are everywhere almost every day of the week.

Miller was picking up a fee from Sky Sports at Ibrox last night- trying to put every shot into the net while praising the backing of the fans as they roared their anthems of hatred about Catholics.

With his Ibrox background, having played for both clubs, it would be silly for Miller to pretend that he was giving a completely neutral assessment of the match. There is however a line to be drawn which Miller seems completely unaware of.

There were non-Sevco fans watching last night’s match, not every incident and development has to be covered from the viewpoint of the home supporters.

Mark Fotheringham’s former Number 2 just couldn’t hold back, with no Sky coverage of the Scottish Cup Miller will be back with BBC Scotland at the weekend alongside Kenny Macintyre, Alasdair Lamont, Jane Lewis, Neil McCann and Steven Thompson.
