Gareth Southgate has called up a goalkeeper into his England squad and it’s NOT Jack Butland.
After a month long frenzy there was outrage across the Scottish media when Southgate named his squad for the friendlies against Brazil and Belgium with no sign of the Ibrox goalkeeper.
Tonight it was announced that Crystal Palace goalie Sam Johnstone has pulled out injured but rather than give Butland a call Southgate has brought in James Trafford of relegation bound Burnley!
Jack Butland still not good enough? https://t.co/NIIbFvDHjh

With Arsenal back-up Aaron Ramsdale already in the squad and Nick Pope expected to be back in action soon for Newcastle it looks like Butland’s international career has the same status as James Tavernier and John Lundstram.
Barry Ferguson is believed to be undergoing a course in grief management after tonight’s snub, recently he claimed that Butland should be England’s first choice keeper.
The former Manchester United reserve is believed to be spending the international break with friends.
The hidden quirk behind Jack Butland snub as Rangers keeper’s SECOND England KO isn’t all it seems ?https://t.co/5dFk5shVPAhttps://t.co/LhyWbtCV8O
