The incredible stats that expose Scottish referees against UEFA officials

Last night Philippe Clement got fairly angry at a penalty being awarded against his side by German referee Tobias Stieler.

In six months in charge at Ibrox it is something of a rarity on the domestic scene as John Beaton, Steven McLean, Alan Muir and David Dickinson appear on a rota to take charge of their matches.

With increasing attention on social media about a run of almost two years without conceding a penalty in the SPFL Beaton awarded Kilmarnock a penalty at Ibrox on January 2 after ‘missing’ an obvious handball from Abdallah Sima to open the scoring.

In Europe there are some dubious referees and questionable decisions but no special treatment or Five Way Agreement to support and back one club.

Lint does some fantastic work on the culture of honest mistakes in Scottish football, highlighting how John Beaton applies the handball completely differently depending on the team involved.

The stats produced totally blow away the notion put forward by apologists that these things balance out over the season, they don’t.

In Europe Celtic concede penalties half as frequently as their city rivals, domestically they conceded penalties three times as often.

The stats above are no snapshots, they are over substantial periods with different managers but they all highlight a pattern that no-one inside Scottish football will dare to question.

Have the Celtic board backed Brendan Rodgers since Tynecastle?

    On the face of it,

ANY SPL club would have a reasonable right

to insist on a – properly, independent – ‘inquiry’ into

these highly unusual statistical trends on match officiating?

That no club has piped up yet – including our very own – is the most

    concerning observation.

The state we are in is down to our so called board of muppets who will not back Brendan, also the lies about the two transfer windows all that money but don’t want to spend more than 2 mil on a player, they must have known the liel abadas situation and what they would get why was money not spent is this would have covered it , the other lots directors have no money but at least try to please their fans, if we loose this years ucl money who is truly to blame , get rid of the lot of incompetent fakes.

Absolutely incredible statistics without a shadow of a doubt !

Bloody Hell – It definitely justifies ma decision nine years ago to stop paying to see Celtic play live at Parkhead…

I simply cannot see me ever going back to it as long as Celtic play football in ugly Scotland (ugly for football and orange walks) not scenery of course, or whisky, or food and all the good things about the country of ma birth !

When Celtic accepted no sporting advantage from the setup Nimmo Smith farce then i could no longer justify funding this sham masquerading as a sport. I’m fully armchair now after 30 years following at home and overseas.

I’m no less passionate however this board has Celtic operating way below its potential to stay in touch with Sevco.

This is obviously a strategy that so many fans dont fully accept or are aware off because everytime Celtic threatens to move clear the reigns are tightened.

This is what fans should be demanding changes or they remove their support. Sadly it is so engrained and accepted it will only change if supporters fully unite. We need a Celts for change 2 or we’ll still be moaning about the same things 20 years from now. When do supporters say NO MORE!?
