Brendan Rodgers has no regrets over his post-match comments at Tynecastle that have landed him a one match touchline ban.
The Celtic boss reacted to the interventions of John Beaton in the VAR studio that resulted in Don Robertson sending off Yang Hyun-jun after 15 minutes with Hearts awarded a penalty shortly before half time.
After the match Rodgers questioned the competence of Beaton which was quickly brought to the attention of the SFA who issued a Notice of Complaint against the Celtic manager.
On Thursday at Hampden Rodgers was given a two match touchline ban with one of them suspended until the end of the season dependent on the actions of the Celtic boss.
For the first time in a managerial career stretching almost 20 years Rodgers won’t be allowed into the dug out or the dressing room at half-time on Sunday.
Despite that sanction the Celtic boss told Sky Sports News that he has no regrets over his comments.
?? “We’ll take our punishment at the weekend and then I’ll be looking forward to that game afterwards.”

Do you have any regrets?
No, no, I just think that there was misunderstanding of interpretation really, I think. In all of my time in Scotland I’ve always talked about the standards, to improve the standards whether that is, VAR on this occasion, whether it was about the fields, the pitches that we play on. So my whole drive, always up here has always been about the standards and I just feel that on that day (at Hearts) it wasn’t quite where we’d want it to be.
The interpretation was maybe misconstrued, misunderstood but certainly I have no regret over it, no.
John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan will be in radio contact with their boss in the stand at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
