Turkish club lines up second Ibrox swoop

Trabzonspor are reported to be lining up a double swoop for John Lundstram and Borna Barisic in the close season.

It seems that the Turkish side has no interest in Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun who are also out of contract.

Barisic has been linked with a move to Turkey over the last couple of weeks, with no offer of a new contract on the table from James Bisgrove Lundstram has been forced to look elsewhere to see what deals are available.

Last summer Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Filip Helander left as free agents, soon after arriving to replace Micky Beale as manager Philippe Clement was warning of the dangers of a repeat of that scenario.

Only Ross McCausland has signed a new contract since the Belgian took charge, warning of the dangers ahead the Daily Record reports:

Trabzonspor are reportedly eyeing a double Rangers swoop this summer with John Lundstram claimed to be on their radar.

The Scouser is out of contract at the end of the season, but has made it clear he’s open to remaining at Ibrox after playing a major role in the team’s turnaround under Philippe Clement.

The Belgian confirmed that the club had opened contract talks with Lundstram towards the end of last year, but as yet no agreement has been reached to extend his stay in Govan beyond the end of the current campaign.

And now reports in Turkey claim that Trabzonspor have made contract over a potential switch. The Super Lig side are building for next season and hope to convince Lundstram that a move to Turkey could be in their best interests. They have also made overtures towards Gers teammate Borna Barisic, who is also out of contract in the summer.

The good news for Clement is that Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers, Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, Nico Raskin and Ben Davies are all secured on long term deals.
