3.8m- The Hibs tweet that really went viral

The social media team at Hibs know how to make an impression, 3.8m and more for one stand out tweet from their visit to Ibrox on Saturday.

Sadly like all others in Scottish football they were unable to follow up their initial boldness with anything meaningful. Neither manager Nick Montgomery or any club official have demanded answers to why they conceded a penalty at Ibrox.

When a routine cross came into the penalty area Nectarios Triantis tracked the ball only for John Souttar to run into the Hibs defender.

Andrew Dallas was quickly on the case when he prompted David Dickinson to the pitchside monitor James Tavernier collected the ball as everyone inside Ibrox knew what was on the way.

David Marshall’s save would have been remarkable on its own but it was dwarfed for attention by the ‘Who had 20 minutes’ tweet.

Michael Nicholson made it trendy at the Celtic AGM but the joke is on 11 Premiership clubs as they sit back watching the most dedicated of levelling up exercises being carried out by Crawford Allan’s placemen.
