Fabio Silva was involved in one of the most incredible dives ever seen in Scottish football history at Hampden today.

A fortnight ago the on loan Wolves striker was at the centre of attention in the Glasgow Derby with referee John Beaton constantly overlooking acts of simulation.

Early in the second half of that match a dive from Silva resulted in a VAR review with Beaton’s u-turn throwing a lifeline to the home side with Tavpen converting.

Today’s diving had no impact on the outcome of the match but will be held against Silva for the remainder of his career.

Soon after Cyriel Dessers had put his side 2-0 up he was through on goal but opted to lay the ball to his right rather than go for his hat-trick.

Seven yards from goal with just one Hearts player to beat Silva opted to go for full on dive complete with throwing up his arms and an anguished look on his face.

Hearts played the ball out with referee Steven McLean deciding to take no action against the diving loan star.
