Borna Barisic looks like continuing in Phil Clement’s matchday squad despite his shocker at Ross County on Sunday.

The Croatian is out of contract at the end of this season with no suggestion that a new contract is about to be offered to extend his six year stay at Ibrox.

Barisic put in a typically lacklustre display against Ross County before being replaced by Dujon Sterling after 72 minutes.

James Tavernier took most of the stick from the angry bears but can always be relied on to step up and take penalties.

Ridvan Yilmaz has been the first choice left-back since the turn of the year but picked up an injury last month on international duty and hasn’t been seen since.

Reflecting on injuries and options ahead of playing Dundee tomorrow Clement said:

Ridvan Yilmaz and Mohamed Diomande won’t be ready for tomorrow, Leon Balogun has been sick the past few days so he is not totally fit. It is about others stepping up when players are out.”

Ridvan Yilmaz will be back relatively soon, he is training individually on pitch but not back with the squad yet.

On Friday April 5 Clement was talking up Yilmaz’s prospects of facing Celtic but almost two weeks later he is still out of contention.

Sterling is the natural replacement for Barisic but could be required to start in central midfield or on the right wing with big changes expected after the 3-2 defeat from Ross County.

Dens Park passed a lunchtime inspection today which also included use of weather forecasts.
