Philippe Clement is refusing to discuss the future of the players out of contract at Ibrox in the summer.

A year ago Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Filip Helander left as free agents with Clement identifying contract management as one of the big issues when he took over from Micky Beale.

John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Leon Balogun are all in that situation as is Kemar Roofe.

Lundstram and Roofe are among the highest earners at the club, at the age of 31 it is more than two years since the former Leeds striker completed 90 minutes but he has been used increasingly in recent weeks.

The Scotsman reports:

Roofe is one of a clutch of players at Ibrox whose contracts expire in the summer. Clement continues to give little away on the futures of players like him and John Lundstram, who is a first-team regular under the ex-Monaco boss but has yet to agree a fresh deal.

If there are agreements, you guys [in the media] will know directly,” added Clement. “Before that, there’s no reason to talk about anything. Because, you can say it’s close or it’s far away. But you can never really talk about that. It’s close when it’s signed. When it’s not signed – is is close or is it far? So there’s no reason to talk about those things until there’s an agreement.”

Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers, Ben Davies, Nico Raskin and Rabbi Matondo are all nailed down onto long term deals.
