‘Dundee lives rent free in his mind’ ‘Every excuse’ ‘on the verge of a total meltdown’ Sweaty Clement in fresh Dundee swipe

Back in September Philippe Clement would probably have struggled to find Dundee on a map.

Since his ill-fated trip to Dens Park on March 17 it seems as if the Ibrox boss has thought of nothing else, at every opportunity Clement is sharing his thoughts on all things Dundonian as he tries to hold together a title challenge.

All of his current grief could have been avoided had the former Monaco boss agreed to play Dundee on April 3, unfortunately he opted out of that date in order to get a full week of training in ahead of facing Celtic. Twenty seconds into the Glasgow Derby he found his side a goal behind.

To suggest that Dundee have a free ride tonight is the sort of comment that Micky Beale would come out with, increasingly the Belgian is taking on the personality and the paranoia of his predecessor.

Dundee have plenty to play for, reinforced by three weeks of arrogance and contempt from the mouth of Clement and the statements from his club.

A win tonight for Tony Docherty’s side and a defeat for Aberdeen at Hampden on Saturday will leave Dundee a point off fifth place in the SPFL Premiership which will provide a place in the Europa Conference League.

Other than a venture into the Intertoto Cup under the Bonetti brothers it is 50 years since Dundee played in a UEFA competition.

With his constant bad mouthing mixed with the delusions of all in and around Ibrox Clement might find that tonight’s opponents have more than a free ride on their mind.

Hopefully the Ibrox team bus turns up in plenty of time for kick-off unlike in November when the kick off was delayed 40 minutes to accommodate Clement and his unprofessional outfit.
