After last week’s moral victory over Celtic and a lap of honour to the adoring bears last Sunday reality returned in Dingwall today.

The tunes of hate were in full force during the first half as an own goal from Jack Baldwin gave the visitors the lead after 15 minutes.

On commentary for Sky Sports Ian Crocker reminded viewers that Philippe Clement’s side could be sitting on top of the SPFL Premiership table and in the final of the Scottish Cup this time next week.

Ross County were unlucky to be behind at the break, by the 50th minute they were in the lead thanks to goal from Simon Murray and George Harmon.

The anger from the away fans was obvious to Sky viewers, there was little in the way of encouragement as abuse from his own fans was screamed at James Tavernier as every corner he took.

1 minute 30 seconds for fan abuse.

With Tav chasing personal glory County attacked down the left, Butland palmed a shot into the path of Josh Sims who put his side 3-1 in front after 69 minutes.

In the 88th minute it was Tavpen time, even with seven minutes of stoppage time there was no equaliser with the anger of the away support obvious at the final whistle.

It will be a long journey home for the travelling bears, the team bus won’t be much fun either with the warm glow of drawing with Celtic a week ago already worn away.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match Clement followed a great Ibrox tradition by launching his players under the bus, outsmarted by Don Cowie and a club from a town with a population of 5.340.
