Philippe Clement

With just two wins in seven matches the loyal bears have turned on Philippe Clement in a time served tradition.

Over the last few years Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Micky Beale and Mister Clement have all been declared as managerial geniuses but the tide has now turned on the former Monaco boss.

After leading his side to top spot in the SPFL Premiership as Celtic imploded it looks like the pressure is too much for Clement just as fans were finalising their title winning celebrations.

Last week Clement led a lap of honour after drawing with Celtic then declared his side as moral victors.

As they drive down the A9 from Dingwall social media is likely to be disabled with the SPFL table taking on a fairly familiar route.

For fans it is Deja Vu with today’s back four consisting of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Borna Barisic- three of whom have watched Celtic enjoy the greatest ever period of domestic success in Scottish football history.

Most bears had convinced themselves that the problems all lay at the feet of Beale even though largely the same group of players have failed under a variety of management teams.

After a week of bleating about the pitch at Dens Park Clement has to face Dundee there or elsewhere knowing that his side will go into the post-split fixtures trailing Celtic with the final SPFL Derby match coming up at Celtic Park, possibly as early as April 27 or 28.
